This Week's Sermon

The Whole Truth…and Nothing But the Truth

Some folks who are creative—or impatient—get an electronic device or a do-it-yourself kit, and just plunge right in, figuring out on their own how the thing works, programs, or gets put together; of course, in the last scenario, sometimes there are extra parts left over, and what we put together falls apart because we didn’t follow the instructions!  Others of us, though, know that if we want to do things right, and expedite the programming/building process, you surrender to the greater wisdom of the folks who designed the thing in the first place, and follow carefully the prescribed steps outlined in the manual or instruction sheet provided—it’s the truly wise way to go!

This is true in life generally as well, particularly in our spiritual walk and growth. The good LORD who designed and created and birthed us in the first place knows what’s best for us even better than we do! This is why He provided a set of 10-step instructions we know as the Ten Commandments. To follow them is wise; to take matters into our own hands is asking for trouble! So join us this Sunday as we look at the ninth of these instructions which make life easier; come hear a message entitled, “The Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth”.
