BUMC Kids

At BUMC, we believe in “Thinking Orange.” That is—combining the influences of the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the home (red) to have a greater influence on the next generation. We invite you to partner with us.

We believe that learning God’s Word should never be boring, but that their time with us should be the best time of their week. We seek to create a fun and loving environment where each child is accepted for who they are and is engaged with learning the timeless truths of Scripture in a new and relevant way.

  • AWANA

Wednesdays at 6:30 to 8:00 PM (September thru April)

Awana is one of the highlight ministries here at BUMC. Specially crafted for kids in the K-5 range, this is one weekly event you don’t want to miss!!

The night is broken up into three 30-minute segments:

Sanctuary time—Kids have a chance to earn Awana bucks through crazy games and hear a story from God’s Word.

Classroom time—Kids get their own books they work through at their own pace. The memorization of Scripture is key here.

Gym Time—We make sure they are nice and tired when you pick them up!

Kids can always earn Awana bucks just for being there and get the chance to exchange them for cool prizes every 6 weeks or so at the Awana store.

Stop by this Wednesday and try it out!

  • Kids Choir

Kids gather every Wednesday,  beginning September 6 (the same nights as Awana) in the Music Room at 6:00 PM.

  • Friday Fun Nights

This is just what it sounds like—fun on a Friday night! This ministry is as much for parents as it is for kids.

Four Friday nights a year, we open our doors to kids from age 4 up through 5th grade for free “babysitting”...if you call it that. Activities include (but are in no way limited to) dodgeball, crafts, board games, moon bounce, movies, snacks, gym games, and more! It is a blast of FUN for the kids, and it gives the parents a few sweet hours of relaxation on a Friday night.

    Dates for 2018

    November 10, 6-8pm

    January 12, 6-8pm

    February 9, 5:30-8:30pm (dinner included)

    April 13, 6-8pm

    RSVP is required. Email info@bethmeth.com

  • Sports Camp - July 30 - August 3, 2018

One of the most exciting ministries around. Kids choose one of four sports: Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, or Volleyball. They learn their sport, earn points for their team, and hear how sports and the Bible can go together!

Pee Wee Soccer

The Pee Wee Soccer (PWS) program through Bethlehem United Methodist Church has been discontinued due to declining player enrollment. With the beginning of full-day kindergarten in the West Chester School District, the number of available kindergarten players will be drastically reduced.

Other groups that may offer soccer for this age group are West Chester United Soccer http://www.wcusc.org/index.html or Brandywine Youth Club http:??www.brandywineyouthclub.com
