Fashionable Faith

On September 16, more than 70 women attended our Fall Social called “Fashionable Faith.” They were greeted with a beautifully decorated Chanel-themed fellowship hall, courtesy of Jan Samuelian’s artistic ability. As they admired the setting, they were invited to sample a variety of delicious pastries, cheeses, and fruits.

A fast-paced YouTube video of how to tie and wear scarves mesmerized the audience. This was followed by actual demonstration of different ways of tying scarves by our multi-talented Julianne Eisele and her model, Rian Giunta.

As the evening progressed, Fran Currie delivered a fun but thought-provoking presentation of how God expects us to show our outward fashion (behavior) based on His word (the fruit of the spirit, Galatians 5:22). An energetic and humorous dialogue by Fran and Beverly Soper encompassed the presentation of the gospel and wearing the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-19).

The evening ended with the giving of door prizes and favors. May God continue to reveal Himself to us and may we be dressed to reveal Him to others.

Thank you to all who donated professional women’s clothing. Donations were brought to Career Wardrobe, Landsdowne, PA (CareerWardrobe.org). (CareerWardrobe.org). They help those in need of professional clothing. The store manager was very grateful for the generosity of the women of BUMC.
